Every guitarist eventually develops a strong opinion about strings. A small change can completely alter the instrument's response. For a hybrid 9-46 gauge from Ernie Ball's Slinky series, quality is paramount: flexibility and bite on the three treble strings, control and a solid feel on the bass.

The smooth strings offer the typical lightness of a 9 gauge: .009, .011, .016. Easy to stretch and quick under vibrato, they allow you to play higher registers without struggling with the instrument. For wound strings, you switch to a heavier gauge: .026, .036, .046. The result: a firmer rhythm response and more precise palm muting.​ 

Du côté des cordes lisses, on retrouve la légèreté typique d’un 9: .009, .011, .016. Faciles à étirer, rapides sous le vibrato, elles aident à jouer plus haut sans lutter contre l’instrument.
